Founded in 1854 by Archibald Alexander Rodgers, Rodgers Bros began as a foundry in the heart of Newcastle, manufacturing steam trains, bridges, and heavy infrastructure essential to the region’s early development. From the beginning, the business was built on skilled workmanship and a strong commitment to quality.

In the 19060s, Rodgers Bros evolved to focus on equipment hire, carrying forward the same attention to detail and service standards that had defined the company for generations.

By 1970, growing demand led to the move into a purpose-built facility on Newcastle Road, Wallsend, allowing the business to significantly expand its hire fleet, customer base, and specialist equipment range.

Now over 170 years old, Rodgers Bros remains family-owned and operated and is proudly in its seventh generation. Brothers Phil and Anthony have passed their knowledge and business skills on to the next generation — Sam, Alex and William — who now lead and operate the business, continuing the family’s long-standing commitment to quality, service, and practical expertise.
